Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

Wales Comic Con is a convention that celebrates everything great about pop culture. At Wales Comic Con, you’ll be able to meet comic book artists, film and TV stars, sports personalities and more – you can even ask them a few hard-hitting questions at our free Q&A sessions. There will also be a large variety of stalls selling a range of gifts, exclusive photo ops, gaming activities and plenty of other activities being held over the course of the weekend event.

Saturday: 10am-6pm
Sunday: 10am-4pm

On both days, entry is from 10am for early bird ticket holders and 11am for general entry ticket holders.

We are not able to offer a cloakroom at this time due to venue restrictions. There are a very small number of paid-for lockers in the Main Hall available on a first come first basis.

There are no cash machines inside the venue, though there is one just across the street on Mold Road and a number on the nearby Plas Coch Retail Park.

Glyndwr University is fully accessible to wheelchair users and those with mobility issues. We also offer a priority access scheme for eligible visitors with disabilities who may find queuing difficult – you can register for this scheme on our contact page.

Visitors with a special assistance pass may be entitled to a free carer’s pass. You can find out more and register for this service from our contact page.

Ticket Related Questions

All tickets are distributed as e-tickets which are managed by TicketWeb. These e-tickets will be emailed to you shortly after purchase. In the unlikely event that you do not receive your tickets or you can no longer access them, please contact TicketWeb via their help page or give them a call on 0333 321 9990. Please ensure you have your purchase reference to hand as they may ask for this.

There is no need to print your e-ticket – we can scan your unique barcode from your phone or tablet instead. However, we recommend making sure to download or take a screenshot of the barcode rather than relying on the internet at the venue to access your tickets. Don’t forget to make sure that your phone has battery!

Although tickets can be purchased on the door, priority will be given to those who have pre-booked tickets. This may result in queuing to purchase on the day. Wherever possible, we strongly suggest pre-booking your tickets!

Children under 5 do not need a ticket. If your child is aged 5-13, you can buy them a reduced price children’s ticket, provided they are accompanied by a paying adult. There is a maximum of two children per adult.

If a guest is unable to attend the event, customers who have purchased photo ops with that guest will automatically be given a refund. Please allow to seven working days for your refund to reach your bank. If you have still not received it, please contact Ticket Web directly as they manage all ticket sales for Wales Comic Con. We will unofrtunately not be able to assist you in locating a missing refund. See our contact page for TicketWeb’s contact details.

Q & A Sessions

All Q&A sessions take place in our Q&A halls – they will be marked clearly on the site map when it becomes available, but you can ask a crew member if you get a little lost.

Priority seating (usually the first two rows) is reserved for VIP ticket holders. Unfortunately we cannot reserve seats for standard or early bird ticket holders.

Asking a question in one of our Q&A sessions is super easy – just raise your hand!

If the gap between two Q&A sessions is less than 15 minutes, you can stay in the Q & A hall. If the gap is any longer, the hall has to be cleared and you will be asked to leave.

What Are Photo Ops?

Photo ops at Wales Comic Con give you the chance to have your picture taken with one of our guests. All photos are professionally shot and printed on site.

Tickets can be bought online before the event – most photo op tickets go live shortly after a guest has been announced (provided they’re taking part in a photo op, of course). There are also a limited number of photo op tickets available during the event from the merchandise desk. These are sold subject to availability, so buying in advance is advisable wherever possible.

Before the event, check our schedule when it goes live to see what time your photo op is taking place. This information will also be available on the day in our event guides. Make sure you head to the photo op hall in time for your photo op – about five minutes before the start time is best. There will be plenty of crew members around to help direct you once you arrive.

Yes – you can have a maximum of two adults and two children per photo op (excluding any guests) with just one ticket. However, regardless of how many people are in your photo op, you will only get one printed copy per ticket. Any extra copies will have to be purchased after the event.

We aim to have photographs available for collection as soon as possible. In most cases, they are available for collection almost immediately after your photo has taken, though in some cases there may be a delay, particularly for very popular guests. We aim to have all photos printed within two hours. If you are unable to wait two hours for your photo, you can download a digital copy after the event. Unfortunately, we are unable to post out uncollected photos.

Yes, you can get your photo signed by a guest, but you will have to pay separately for an autograph. Once you’ve collected your photo, just take it to the guest’s signing table.

Autographs

Autograph prices are not included in your ticket price. All autographs must be paid for on the day at the guest’s table. Unfortunately, we are only able to accept cash for autograph payments.

Yes – most guests are happy to personalise autographs provided they have time.

Many guests are happy to take a selfie with you when you buy an autograph. Some guests may charge for a selfie – this is done at the discretion of the guest and their management.

Yes, you can choose to have a personal item signed if you prefer. In most cases, this will be the same price as a standard autograph, but in some cases, guests may choose to charge more for certain items – wrestling guests often charge more for signing wrestling belts, for example. If we are aware of any restrictions or price differences before the event, you’ll be able to see them on our autograph price list.

Press Passes

Members of any press or media outlet can apply for a press pass.

Press pass applications open approximately eight weeks before the event and close two weeks before. When applications are open, you can apply online using the form that will appear below. If you have an urgent enquiry before or after applications open, please email press@walescomiccon.com

In most cases, we will issue a maximum of two passes per media outlet. In extraordinary circumstances, we may be able to issue further passes, but if you require more than two, you must contact us directly at press@walescomiccon.com

You are not guaranteed a press pass. You will be notified if your application has been successful shortly after applications close. To maximise your chances of receiving a press pass, please make sure that you fill in your application with all relevant information.

Press passes are available for collection from the press registration desk at the main entrance on both days of the event. Please ask a crew member to direct you on arrival.

Press passes are valid for the entire event and grant access to the site from 10am on both days.

Press pass holders have the following permissions:
• You may take photographs of the event.
• You may speak to attendees and use any quotes they give, provided they give their individual permission.
• You can take photographs in the Q&A Halls during Q&A sessions, but please avoid causing too much disruption.

As a press pass holder, you will also have access to apply for guest interviews, though spaces are extremely limited and vary upon availability.

• Your press pass does not entitle you to any free merchandise from the Wales Comic Con merchandise stand, vendors or guests. If you want any merchandise, including autographs from guests, you must purchase it.
• We cannot allow you to film Q&A sessions without express permission, but you may take notes that can be quoted.
• A press pass does not grant you access to the green room or other behind the scenes areas that are not accessible by the general public.

A select number of guests may be available for interview during the event. Press pass holders will be notified by email of guest availability closer to the event – we aim to have this information to pass holders approximately a week before the show.
